He has a medical and mental condition requiring prescription medication making him at-risk.  The Sheriff's Search and Rescue (SAR) Division was activated.  66 SAR Volunteers, as well as SAR K-9 handlers searched the campgrounds for two days.  Reserve deputy divers searched a nearby lake in the RV park, but the underwater search turned up nothing.

Volunteers on the ground were assisted by Sheriff's ASTREA or helicopter and a drone from above during the two-day search.

Deputies from the San Marcos Sheriff's Station contacted more than 100 people within the search area to check if they've seen Turrey or if he might have wandered off at their campsite.

Detectives investigated and followed up on leads that were provided by the public.  Flyers were distributed and notifications were made to partner agencies within the region.  Turrey lives and has family in Temecula.  We reached out to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department to conduct a welfare check at his home, but Turrey was not found.

The case remains open with a limited search ongoing. Detectives will continue to follow up on leads received from the public. Anyone with information on Turrey's whereabouts can call the Sheriff's Department at (858) 565-5200.

We would like to thank all the Sheriff's Search and Rescue (SAR) Volunteers, as well as Reserve Deputy Divers who helped look for Turrey.
