On February 17, 2021, at approximately 1645 hours, deputies from the North Coastal Sheriff's Station's Transit Enforcement Unit responded to a report of a pedestrian who was struck by an North County Transit District Sprinter train near the intersection of Andreasen Drive and Mission Avenue, City of Escondido.  Upon arrival, the subject was deceased.  

The Sheriff's Transit Enforcement Unit investigates incidents along the routes of the North County Transit District.  The Medical Examiner's Office will make a positive identification of the body pending notification of the family.
