Anonymous tips wanted in death of livestock

The Sheriff's Department is investigating after farm animals were found dead in the East County. 

Deputies with the Alpine Sheriff's Substation responded to a call of suspicious circumstances in the 400 block of Peutz Valley Road in Alpine just after 8:00 a.m. on February 19. Upon arrival, deputies learned the reporting party's livestock was found dead in an animal pen on the property. A total of ten animals were found deceased. The livestock consisted of lambs, goats and a ram.  

This is being investigated as a felony animal cruelty case. We want your help in solving this crime.  If you live in the area and might have surveillance video, share it with our detectives. If you saw or heard anything or might have any information about this crime, you can remain anonymous. Call Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.  You may be eligible for up to a $1,000 reward for information that leads to a felony arrest.
