The following information is fragmentary and has not been completely verified.  It is based, in part, on hearsay and is intended for early information use rather than being a formal investigative report.

On February 28, 2021, at about 8:20 p.m., Sheriff's deputies responded to the 3800 block of Alta Vista Drive in Fallbrook for a report of a multivehicle accident. When deputies arrived, they found an adult male who had been shot. Fire personnel transported the male to a local area hospital. Unfortunately, the male was pronounced deceased at the hospital.   

The Sheriff's Homicide Unit responded and has assumed responsibility of the investigation.
