On 03-03-2021 at approximately 9:38 am, Sheriff's Deputies from the Poway Station responded to a radio call of a vehicle vs. pedestrian behind several business in the strip mall located in the 13300 block of Poway Road.  When deputies arrived, they found a deceased female who had been run over by a semi-tractor trailer.  Through the course of the investigation, it appears the semi-tractor trailer was traveling northbound on the delivery access road behind the businesses.  At some point, the female pedestrian and the trailer came into contact.  The female was dragged approximately fifty feet before being run over.  The female died at the scene. The investigation into how the initial collision occurred is still under investigation. 

The Sheriff's Traffic Accident Reconstruction (S.T.A.R.) Team was called to the scene to assist in the investigation.  Alcohol and/or drugs are not believed to be a factor in the collision.
