Robbery and Kidnapping- Valley Center

Offer-Up transaction results in robbery and kidnapping.

On Tuesday March 09, 2021, at about 11:59 P.M., Sheriff's Deputies from the Valley Center Substation responded to a report of a kidnapping and robbery.  Two victims were calling from 8744 W. Lilac Road in Valley Center.  

Upon arrival, the victims told deputies that they had driven to the City of Chula Vista from Riverside County to purchase refrigerators from a seller advertising on "Offer-Up" at about 5:00 or 6:00 P.M. 

The two victims had driven to an unknown address on Palomar Street near the 5 Freeway when two unknown Hispanic male adults ordered the victims to get out of their rented trucks and forced them to get inside of an unidentified vehicle. 

The victims were ordered to kneel in the back of the vehicle with their heads down towards the seats. The suspects stole money, an iPhone, and identification cards from the victims.  The suspects drove the victims to the area of 8744 W. Lilac Road in Valley Center and ordered them out of the vehicle.  The suspects drove off and were not located.  The victims were not injured.

Sheriff's Deputies took a courtesy report for Chula Vista Police, as the incident occurred in the City of Chula Vista.  Chula Vista Police was contacted and advised of the incident.
