On March 10, 2021, at about 8:33 pm, Rancho San Diego Deputies responded to multiple calls of gunshots in the area of Dolores Street and South Barcelona Street, in Spring Valley. Deputies arrived and located a 22-year-old shooting victim. He was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Deputies followed evidence to 9966 Dolores Street, where they located a firearm and evidence of a shooting outside an illegal marijuana dispensary at 9966 Dolores Street #107, in Spring Valley.

On March 10, 2021, at about 9:00 pm, Deputies received a call of an additional shooting victim believed to be related to this incident. The second 22-year-old victim was located at a residence in Spring Valley. He was also transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

On March 11, 2021, at 5:00 am, Rancho San Diego Detectives and Crime Suppression Team Deputies, with the assistance of Narcotics Detectives and the Sheriff's Special Enforcement Detail, served a search warrant at the illegal dispensary. Four individuals were located and contacted inside the location. Detectives seized marijuana, marijuana products, US currency and an additional firearm.
