Four people are under arrest after an illegal marijuana dispensary was shut down in the unincorporated area of El Cajon.

Members of the Sheriff's Special Enforcement Detail (SED/SWAT) served a search warrant in the 3000 block of Oro Street in El Cajon on Friday, March 26 just before 8:00 a.m.  The warrant was part of an investigation by detectives from the Sheriff's Narcotics and Gangs Division and the Lakeside Sheriff's Substation.

Detectives seized the following during the search:

  • 97 pounds of marijuana
  • 147 pounds of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) vape products
  • 243 pounds of THC infused edibles
  • 87 THC infused drinks
  • 22 pounds of THC concentrates
  • $6,609 in cash
  • One firearm

Investigators discovered several THC infused edibles which falsely appeared to be legitimate name brand chips and candies.  It is not uncommon for unlicensed and unregulated cannabis dispensaries to market their dangerous product to children.  Additionally, THC infused food products closely resembling well-known name brands may be inadvertently consumed, creating potential health and safety risks.
