On Wednesday 3/31/2021 at approximately 10:52 p.m., Sheriff's deputies from the Imperial Beach Station responded to a call of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision in the area of Palm Avenue between 12th Street and Florida Street. The involved pedestrian succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The male pedestrian had crossed the intersection of Palm Avenue near 12th Street when he was struck by a 2010 Dodge Challenger.  The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.   

The Sheriff's Traffic Accident Reconstruction (S.T.A.R.) team was called to the scene to assist in the investigation.  It was determined that alcohol was not a factor in the collision.
