On February 23, 2025, at approximately 12:40 p.m., deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff's Office Lemon Grove Substation responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon at Kunkel Park, located in Lemon Grove. Upon arrival at around 12:44 p.m., deputies discovered a Hispanic male adult in his 50s lying on the ground inside the park, exhibiting signs of trauma to his upper torso.

Deputies promptly initiated first aid and life-saving measures, later assisted by Heartland Fire and AMR paramedics. The injured male was transported by AMR to a local hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries.

The Sheriff's Homicide Unit was notified and has taken over the investigation. At this time, the motivation and circumstances surrounding the homicide remain unclear. Investigators are actively working to gather further information to establish the facts of the case. Preliminary findings suggest that the suspect and victim were acquainted. Since the investigation is ongoing, no additional information will be released.

Homicidio- Lemon Grove

Una persona murió en un altercado en el parque Kunkel.

El 23 de febrero de 2025, aproximadamente a las 12:40 p.m., los oficiales de la subestación Lemon Grove del alguacil del condado de San Diego respondieron a un informe de un asalto con un arma mortal en Kunkel Park, ubicado en Lemon Grove. Al llegar, alrededor de las 12:44 p.m., los oficiales descubrieron a un hombre hispano adulto de unos 50 años tirado en el suelo dentro del parque, mostrando signos de trauma en la parte superior del torso.

Los oficiales iniciaron rápidamente las primeras medidas de primeros auxilios y salvamento, luego asistidos por los paramédicos de Heartland Fire y AMR. El hombre herido fue transportado por AMR a un hospital local, donde sucumbió trágicamente a sus heridas.

La Unidad de Homicidios del Alguacil fue notificada y se ha hecho cargo de la investigación. En este momento, la motivación y las circunstancias que rodearon el homicidio siguen sin estar claras.
