This weekend, the San Diego County Sheriff's Department is honored to welcome 12-year-old Jordan Ramirez to Sheriff's Headquarters in Kearny Mesa.
The Los Angeles County resident and young marathon runner has made headlines around the world for the way he proudly shows his support for law enforcement and the military. Wearing a Young Marines uniform and carrying a U.S. Flag, Jordan regularly embarks on "Thank You For Your Service" walks. He visits law enforcement agencies and presents them with a plaque to show his appreciation for everything they do to keep communities safe.
On Saturday, April 24, Jordan will be visiting the Sheriff's Department, San Diego Police Department and the California Highway Patrol. Sheriff's Recruiting Deputies will be on-hand to welcome Jordan to Sheriff's Headquarters, along with the Sheriff's Search and Rescue K-9 Unit, Volunteer Mounted (horse) Unit and Explorers (teen volunteers).
