Detectives from the San Diego County Sheriff's Office's Border Crimes Suppression Team (BCST) and agents with the United States Border Patrol have seized nearly 8,000 pounds of methamphetamine in the South Bay.

It happened on Monday, June 2, around 7:00 p.m. during a joint narcotic investigation.

Sheriff's Detectives and Border Patrol Agents observed three vehicles being loaded with suspected bundles of narcotics. Two of the vehicles were driven to a motel in San Ysidro, while the third vehicle traveled to a motel in Chula Vista. The three suspects who were driving the vehicles were detained. Upon searching the vehicles, Sheriff's Detectives found a total of 61 bundles containing suspected methamphetamine. 

In all, 7,704 pounds of methamphetamine were seized. The estimated street value of the narcotics is approximately $5.5 million.

All three suspects were subsequently arrested and booked into San Diego Central Jail for charges related to conspiracy, transportation and possession of controlled substances for sales.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.

Incautación de Narcóticos - Bahía del Sur

Se incautaron casi 8,000 libras de metanfetamina. 

Detectives del Equipo de Supresión de Delitos Fronterizos (BCST) de la Oficina del Alguacil del Condado de San Diego y agentes de la Patrulla Fronteriza de Estados Unidos incautaron casi 8,000 libras de metanfetamina en la Bahía del Sur.

El incidente ocurrió el Lunes 2 de Junio, alrededor de las 7:00 p.m., durante una investigación conjunta de narcóticos.

Los detectives del Alguacil y los agentes de la Patrulla Fronteriza observaron tres vehículos cargados con presuntos paquetes de narcóticos. Dos de los vehículos se dirigían a un motel en San Ysidro, mientras que el tercero se dirigía a un motel en Chula Vista. Los tres sospechosos que conducían los vehículos fueron detenidos. Tras registrar los vehículos, los detectives del Alguacil encontraron un total de 61 paquetes que contenían presunta metanfetamina.

En total, se incautaron 7,704 libras de metanfetamina. El valor estimado de los narcóticos en la calle es de aproximadamente $5.5 millones.

Los tres sospechosos fueron posteriormente arrestados e ingresados en la Cárcel Central de San Diego por cargos relacionados con conspiración, transporte y posesión de sustancias controladas para su venta.

La investigación continúa en curso.
