San Marcos High School Bomb Threat- San Marcos

Post Date:04/27/2021 7:59 PM

On April 27, 2021, at approximately 12:51 P.M., an unknown subject called San Marcos High School and claimed there was an explosive device on the campus. The school resource officer coordinated the evacuation of the students and staff to a safe area. Out of an abundance of caution, bomb detection canines were requested from surrounding agencies to search the campus. Sheriff's and school district personal implemented a reunification plan, transporting the students by bus to San Marcos Middle School to be picked up by parents or family members. Approximately 1200 students were evacuated and transported to San Marcos Middle School. After an extensive search, no suspicious devices were located. The campus and parking lots were reopened at approximately 6:00 P.M. The investigation is ongoing.
