A woman is in custody after a nearly five-hour-long standoff in Fallbrook.
On Monday, July 21, just before 1:00 a.m., deputies from the Fallbrook Sheriff's Substation responded to a call at a home in the 100 block of Avo Drive for a reported victim with a gunshot wound to the head.
Deputies learned that Devin Jones (DOB 03/05/1981) and her boyfriend were involved in a violent argument inside their trailer. During the altercation, Jones held a knife and made threats to harm her boyfriend, though no stabbing occurred. He managed to take the knife away from Jones and took the opportunity to leave the trailer, removing himself from the situation. While the boyfriend was outside, Jones remained inside, retrieved a rifle and fired through the trailer window, striking him in the head.
The victim was taken to a hospital with a minor skull laceration. The emergency room doctor noted the injury could have been fatal if the bullet had deviated slightly. The victim was later released from the hospital.
Following the shooting, Jones barricaded herself inside the trailer, prompting a response from deputies, as well as the Sheriff's Special Enforcement Detail (SED/SWAT). Around 5:30 a.m., Jones was eventually taken into custody without further incident.
Jones is facing numerous charges, including attempted murder. She was booked into the Vista Detention Facility.

Sospechosa arrestada tras enfrentamiento que duró horas.
Una mujer se encuentra bajo custodia tras un enfrentamiento de casi cinco horas en Fallbrook.
El Lunes 21 de Julio, poco antes de la 1:00 a.m., oficiales de la Subestación del Alguacil de Fallbrook respondieron a una llamada en una vivienda ubicada en la cuadra 100 de Avo Drive, informando de una víctima con una herida de bala en la cabeza.
Los oficiales se enteraron de que Devin Jones (fecha de nacimiento: 03/05/1981) y su novio tuvieron una discusión violenta dentro de su casa rodante. Durante el altercado, Jones empuñó un cuchillo y amenazó con lastimar a su novio, aunque no hubo apuñalamiento. Él logró quitarle el cuchillo a Jones y aprovechó la oportunidad para salir de la casa rodante, retirándose de la situación. Mientras el novio estaba afuera, Jones permaneció dentro, sacó un rifle y disparó a través de la ventana de la casa rodante, impactándolo en la cabeza.
La víctima fue trasladada a un hospital con una laceración craneal leve. El médico de urgencias indicó que la lesión podría haber sido mortal si la bala se hubiera desviado ligeramente. La víctima fue dada de alta del hospital posteriormente.
Tras el tiroteo, Jones se atrincheró dentro de la caravana, lo que provocó la intervención de los oficiales y del el Detalle de Aplicación Especial del Alguacil (SED/SWAT). Alrededor de las 5:30 a.m., Jones fue finalmente detenida sin más incidentes.
Jones enfrenta numerosos cargos, incluyendo intento de asesinato. Fue ingresada en el Centro de Detención de Vista.
