Critical Incident Video - Santee
Video of deputy-involved shooting.
The San Diego County Sheriff's Office is releasing video from a deputy-involved shooting that occurred on July 27, 2025 in Santee.
We are committed to transparency, public trust and compliance with the law.
The San Diego Police Department is investigating the shooting per a Memorandum of Agreement signed in 2022. This formal agreement adds a layer of transparency to ensure no agencies investigate their own shooting incidents. To read the news releases issued regarding this incident, click on the links below:
With the investigation still underway, San Diego Police has reviewed and approved the release of this critical incident video.
The District Attorney's Office will review San Diego Police's investigation. The County's Citizens' Law Enforcement Review Board (CLERB) is reviewing the incident and will provide appropriate recommendations. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and United States Attorney's Office are also monitoring the investigation.

El Departamento de Policía de San Diego está investigando el tiroteo según un Memorando de Acuerdo firmado en 2022. Con la investigación aún en curso, la Policía de San Diego ha revisado y aprobado la publicación de este video de incidente crítico.
La Oficina del Fiscal de Distrito revisará la investigación de la Policía de San Diego. La Junta de Revisión de la Aplicación de la Ley de los Ciudadanos del Condado (CLERB, por sus siglas en inglés) está revisando el incidente y proporcionará las recomendaciones apropiadas. La Oficina Federal de Investigaciones (FBI) y la Oficina del Fiscal de los Estados Unidos también están monitoreando la investigación.
