A man is in custody on suspicion of robbery in Imperial Beach.
On Tuesday, August 12, just before 2:00 p.m., a man later identified as Roberto Galvan (DOB 05/19/1985) entered the Chase Bank located in the 1100 block of Palm Avenue.
Once inside, Galvan robbed a customer as she was making a cash deposit with a bank teller. Galvan approached the victim from behind, grabbed her money and ran out of the bank. He got into a car and drove away as the victim tried to stop him. The woman sustained minor injuries from holding onto the car as Galvan fled the area.
As deputies from the Imperial Beach Sheriff's Substation searched for Galvan's car in the area, they received information that Galvan was spotted in the City of El Cajon. The El Cajon Police Department was notified that Galvan was driving in their jurisdiction. Based on the information received, El Cajon Police located Galvan and took him into custody without incident.
A short time later, Galvan was positively identified by the victim and placed under arrest by Sheriff's Deputies for the robbery.

Robo - Imperial Beach
Sospechoso arrestado.
Un hombre está bajo custodia bajo sospecha de robo en Imperial Beach.
El Martes 12 de Agosto, poco antes de las 2:00 p.m., un hombre identificado posteriormente como Roberto Galván (fecha de nacimiento: 05/19/1985) ingresó al Chase Bank, ubicado en la cuadra 1100 de Palm Avenue.
Una vez dentro, Galván robó a una clienta mientras esta realizaba un depósito en efectivo a una cajera. Galván se acercó a la víctima por detrás, le arrebató el dinero y salió corriendo del banco. Se subió a un auto y se marchó mientras la víctima intentaba detenerlo. La mujer sufrió heridas leves al sujetarse del auto mientras Galván huía del lugar.
Mientras los oficiales de la Subestación del Alguacil de Imperial Beach buscaban el auto de Galván en la zona, recibieron información de que Galván había sido visto en la ciudad de El Cajón. El Departamento de Policía de El Cajón fue notificado de que Galván conducía en su jurisdicción. Con base en la información recibida, la Policía de El Cajón localizó a Galván y lo detuvo sin incidentes.
Poco después, la víctima identificó a Galván y lo arrestó por el robo.
