San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the Rancho San Diego Sheriff's Station want the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspect responsible for a shooting in Spring Valley.
On July 17, 2026, just after 11:30 p.m., deputies responded to a call of a shooting at a home located in the 10200 block of Challenger Boulevard. When they arrived at the scene, deputies found a woman who had a single gunshot wound to the ankle. She was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a hospital.
Deputies investigating the incident learned the victim was attending a party at the location when two men got into an argument in the middle of the street. The situation eventually escalated resulting in a shooting. The victim was not the intended target and did not know the men involved in the argument.
The suspect immediately fled the scene. No suspect description was given.
Sheriff's Detectives are requesting the public's assistance in locating any additional witnesses, victims or evidence regarding this shooting.

Crime Stoppers: Tiroteo - Spring Valley
Se busca la ayuda del público para identificar y dar con el sospechoso.
La organización Crime Stoppers del Condado de San Diego y los investigadores de la Estación del Alguacil de Rancho San Diego solicitan la colaboración del público para identificar y localizar al sospechoso responsable de un tiroteo en Spring Valley.
El 17 de Julio de 2026, poco después de las 11:30 p.m., oficiales del Alguacil acudieron a un reporte de tiroteo en una vivienda ubicada en la cuadra 10200 de Challenger Boulevard. Al llegar al lugar, los oficiales encontraron a una mujer con una herida de bala en el tobillo. Fue trasladada a un hospital para recibir tratamiento por lesiones que no ponían en peligro su vida.
Los oficiales que investigan el incidente determinaron que la víctima asistía a una fiesta en el lugar cuando dos hombres comenzaron a discutir en plena calle. La situación escaló hasta desembocar en un tiroteo. La víctima no era el objetivo previsto y no conocía a los hombres involucrados en la disputa.
