On 07/18/2021, at approximately 1744 hours, an AMTRAK train was traveling southbound approaching the intersection of the train tracks and Washington Street in the city of San Diego, county of San Diego. As the train crossed the intersection with Washington Street, the train struck a pedestrian.  The pedestrian involved in the collision was deceased upon the arrival of law enforcement.  Deputies are investigating the incident and manner of death will be determined by the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.
