Home MenuRobert Smith, Commander
In 1994, after 4 years' service to our country in the United States Marine Corps, Commander Rob Smith embarked on his law Enforcement career with the San Diego Sheriff's Department. He has worked a wide variety of assignments including detentions, patrol, Sheriff's Aviation (ASTREA), Court Services, narcotics/gangs, and Special Investigations. It was while working for the Sheriff's Department that Rob obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice.
Rob's current assignment has him commanding all the Sheriff's Department patrol resources assigned to our 14 Sheriff's Stations and Substations including: all patrol deputies, traffic enforcement deputies, area investigators, crime suppression teams and Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving Teams (COPPS). Rob's message to his staff is to treat all people as you would expect and hope any member of your family would be treated during a law enforcement encounter; fairly and professionally.
