Theresa Adams-Hydar is a Commander with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. During her 25 year career, she has worked a variety of positions including, Detentions, Patrol, Community Oriented Policing, Area Investigations, Gang Investigations, Personnel, Internal Affairs and Special Investigations. In her current assignment, Theresa commands the department’s Support units within the Law Enforcement Services Bureau. This includes the Emergency Services Division, the Communication Center, the Crime Lab, Sheriff's Licensing, Sheriff Reserve/ Search and Rescue, Volunteer Services, Traffic Services, Special Events Unit and Sheriff's Analysis Driven Law Enforcement unit (SADLE). She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and Spanish and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Management. She also serves as an instructor at the Sheriff’ POST Supervisor Course and is an FBI National Academy graduate. She is married with two children and resides in northern San Diego County.
