Small-Web-photoLieutenant Joseph Jarjura began his career in 2007, as a cadet in the 72nd Regional Law Enforcement Academy. After graduating from the academy, his first assignment was at the San Diego Courthouse. In 2008, Joseph was assigned to the North Coastal Station where he became a Corporal. In 2012, Joseph was selected to the In-Service Training Unit. He later became the Defensive Tactics CORE Instructor for the San Diego Regional Public Safety Training Institute. His primary responsibility was to oversee the training for the Sheriff's Detentions/Courts Academy, the Regional Law Enforcement Academy, and the Sheriff's Office. 

In 2019, Joseph worked as an area detective at the North Coastal Station. Joseph was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2020 and assigned to the Santee Station. Joseph later had the opportunity to become the Search and Rescue supervisor and work with many amazing volunteers in that group and the Reserve Deputy unit. He then went to work in the Criminal Intelligence Unit and supervised the Threat Assessment Group.  

Joseph was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2023 and assigned as the Homicide Unit supervisor. He was then transferred back to the Santee Station to serve the citizens of that city. Joseph is currently assigned to the Office of the Sheriff where he works as the Division of Inspectional Services supervisor. Some of the unit's duties include administrative reviews of critical incidents, acting as the office's liaison with CLERB, and conducting department quality assurance inspections. 

Joseph holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management and a Master's Degree in Education.
