200x280-BeaumontPhillip Beaumont began his career in 1997, as a cadet in the 27th Corrections Academy. After graduating the academy, he was assigned to the Central Detention Facility. Lt. Beaumont worked at the Central Detention Facility for about 11 months before attending the Regional Law Enforcement Academy. After graduating the law enforcement academy, Lt. Beaumont was assigned to the San Diego Central Jail. In September of 1999, Lt. Beaumont was assigned to the Sheriff's Vista Patrol Station serving the citizens of the city and the Unincorporated community.  

In 2006, Lt. Beaumont was assigned to the In-Service Training Unit and was selected as a member of the Special Response Team. In 2010, Lt. Beaumont was assigned to the Sheriff's SWAT team where he responded to critical incidents throughout the entire county of San Diego.  

In 2018, Lt. Beaumont was promoted to the rank of Sheriff's Sergeant and was assigned to the Santee Patrol Station and served as a patrol sergeant for two years. He later transferred to the Lakeside Substation and was assigned as the area detective and administrative sergeant. Lt. Beaumont worked at the Lakeside Substation for about a year and a half before transferring to Criminal Intelligence Unit. He supervised the Counter Terrorism Group and worked with his SD-LECC partners.  

Lieutenant Beaumont was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2023 and assigned as the SWAT Commander and managed the Sheriff's Bomb and Arson Unit.  In 2024, Lt. Beaumont was assigned as the Lakeside Substation Commander serving the communities of Lakeside and Unincorporated El Cajon.    

Lt. Beaumont is currently assigned to the Office of the Sheriff where he works as a Special Assistant to Sheriff Martinez. Lt. Beaumont's duties include acting as the department's tribal liaison and working directly with the County Administrator's Office for constituent services.  

Phil was raised in Kentucky and the U.S. Navy brought him to San Diego. Phil serves with members of his family at the Sheriff's Office and other agencies within California. Phil knew he wanted to work in law enforcement while serving in the Navy and feels extremely lucky to have the opportunity to work for the Sheriff's Office.
